It’s been a rough year for who is easily the most well-known pro wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzer. Forbes actually wrote a piece about him a few months back, titled “Dave Meltzer’s ‘Internal Memo’ Gaffe Caps A Week Of Faulty Reporting”.

We’ll get back to that, after talking about his latest gaffe. This time it's about the health of All Elite Wrestling former Women’s Champion, Thunder Rosa.

Now he’s made many mistakes in the past, but this year, he prematurely reported on a pro wrestling legend’s death, Afa Anoa’i. (RIP) And today, he’s wrong about a female wrestler’s health.

Here is what he said in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“Thunder Rosa should be returning to AEW soon as she has been cleared after suffering a concussion.”

And here is Rosa’s response:

“STOP LYING ABOUT MY HEALTH. I’m NOT CLEARED AND WHEN I AM I WILL ANNOUNCE IT. I reserve the right to divulge my medical status. If you need information ask me directly or my team….”

Years back, 17x WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair told Dave to “Go to Hell”, after commenting on her appearance. One of the goats, The Rock called his reporting “Complete horseshit”.

On his podcast this year, The Undertaker said about Dave:

“I don’t really have a lot of stock in what he says. I can’t even believe I just gave him credit. I did say his name and I’m regretting that right now. We might have to edit that out.”

And finally JBL’s (John Layfield) classic tweet about him:

Meltzer was such a great asset for WWE, he was so wrong and so easily manipulated that he was perfect to feed bogus info to in order to swerve the fans. He should have been on the payroll, how anyone still follows him is amazing.
