AEW Women’s Champ Mercedes Mone Criticizes “All Out” Violence

The former WWE “Boss” and current All Elite Wrestling “CEO” Mercedes Mone, spoke about the extreme violence that took place over the weekend at AEW All Out 2024.

The latest edition of her newsletter was pretty shocking, coming from a major champion of the promotion. Not many AEW talents criticize ANYTHING, so I applaud the hell out of her.

“I wouldn't want my brother Joshua to watch stuff like that…..or kids, for that matter.”

She doesn’t think any kids should have watched “All Out”! That’s pretty harsh and I totally agree. A bag over a head, knife, syringe, etc…I hated everything about it.

Obviously, she’s not like others, having creative control and making more than anyone else…reportedly. Good for her, maybe she needs even more control.

I was a huge ECW fan, so violence is no issue for me. As long as it’s not ridiculous, seriously, why not use a gun? How is that different from a knife or bag over a head…you can’t attempt murder in Pro Wrestling!

Ridiculous violence and doing nasty things like that, is totally different.

Now here’s Mercedes:

"All Out was extremely violent, and honestly, Daniel Bryan's stuff was tough to watch. I have mixed emotions. When done right, that kind of stuff can tear a roof off like Daniel's did.

However, I wouldn't want my brother Joshua to watch stuff like that, or kids, for that matter. Let's face it, wrestling is multi-generational. When I do signings, I greet so many parents and their children.

Growing up, I didn't have a father, so it especially warms my heart to meet families and hear how much their wrestling viewing experiences and memories mean to them.

Then again, there is an audience that loves the extreme, and you want to cater to them, too."- Mercedes Mone
