Caitlin Clark Leads Fever to Back-to-Back Wins Coming out Olympics

22-year-old phenom, Caitlin Clark was left off of the U.S Olympic team, which led to some controversy. It didn’t matter as the women won their eighth consecutive gold medal and 61st consecutive victory in the Olympic Games.

Today, the Indiana Fever defeated Seattle Storm, 92-75, after coming into the game as -3.5 underdogs. This was the 2nd of back-to-back wins, since the WNBA All Star Game and Olympics last month.

Clark had 23 points with 9 assists and 5 rebounds today, while Kelsey Mitchell dropped in 27 to lead the team.

She already set the WNBA rookie record for assists in a season! Keep in mind, there are still twelve games to go. Pretty wild.

On Friday, the Fever beat the Phoenix Mercury 98-89. In that game, she had 29 points, with 10 assists and 5 rebounds.

The previous assist record was held by Ticha Penicheiro.

The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), established in 1996, has been crucial for women’s sports, highlighting female basketball talent and athleticism. With 12 teams, it features a diverse array of athletes and promotes gender equality. Its competitive environment includes intense rivalries and impressive performances, enhancing its popularity.

WNBA players serve as role models, advocating for social justice, gender equity, and pay equality. Viewership and sponsorship have increased significantly, demonstrating rising interest in women's sports. Key events like the WNBA Draft, All-Star Game, and playoffs attract attention, helping to elevate women’s basketball globally.
