Save the Cheerleader, Save the World…Again. “Heroes” is Returning!

This is exciting news as a huge fan of the series “Heroes”. The sci-fi action-drama was created by Tim Kring, who is returning for the third iteration.

“Heroes” ran from 2006 to 2010, debuting with huge ratings and an Outstanding Drama Series Emmy nomination in it’s first season. The original series had a stacked cast, led by Hayden Panettiere, Milo Ventimiglia, Ali Larter and Zachary Quinto.

Then there was a sequel series “Heroes: Reborn” in 2015. It only lasted one season, but I thought it deserved more. I think they made a huge mistake basing the story around Hayden’s character, when she didn’t appear. (I won’t spoil anything)

Now Kring is reportedly shopping “Heroes: Eclipsed” and NBC, where the franchise originally aired, is a likely suitor.

Eclipsed is set several years after the original series and follow evos (evolved humans) that are, "being awakened and discovering powers that will change their lives.

It will feature familiar villains and new enemies who once again will be attempting to suppress this next step in human evolution. This new group of heroes will once again, have to “save the world."
