On top of the devastation, we have another extremely frightening event taking place. In addition to the water levels and the tragic loss from the hurricane, some of these people now have to worry about being the owner of electric vehicles. We've all grown up knowing that electricity and water don't mix, but I don't think any of us ever took into account flooding of electric vehicles due to heavy storms. Above, you'll see a picture of a burned out electric vehicle. And below is a video of a flooded Tesla burning.

Tesla was founded in July 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning as Tesla Motors. The name is a tribute to inventor engineer Nikola Tesla.

Elon Musk joined as Tesla's largest shareholder in 2004, then was named CEO in 2008.
