James Gunn Confirms “Superman: Legacy” Release Date

Writer/Director James Gunn, who made the brilliant “Guardians of the Galaxy” trilogy, is now working on “Superman”. He confirmed today on X (Twitter) his film “Superman: Legacy” will indeed make the planned release date of July 11, 2025. There was worry it would be pushed back like many films due to the ongoing writers strike. Luckily that’s not the case here.

Casting is still underway but some top stars are set. David Corenswet takes over as Superman/Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Also announced is Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific.

Plus, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho!

That is wild cast of characters, I’d be interested in a movie with them even without Superman. No knock on the Man of Steel, just love the characters Gunn chose.
