New “Karate Kid” Movie set with Ralph Macchio & Jackie Chan
“The Karate Kid” universes are finally going to fully connect! In what I think is a brilliant move, Sony announced the next “Karate Kid” film will star both Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan.
Macchio is the star of the original trilogy and “Cobra Kai” Netflix series. Chan starred in “The Karate Kid” 2010 reboot with Jaden Smith. No word on Smith being involved, but I’m gonna guess he’ll show at some point. In this movie or the Cobra Kai series, or a spin-off.
Most every major living character from the movies has returned, other than Chan, Smith and Hilary Swank. I say most, I’m a huge fan tho and I think it’s “every” major character.
I love this news! It’s not more “Karate Kid” just cause they can do it. They’re connecting things and making the universe bigger.
