Padres Clinch MLB Playoffs with Game-Ending Triple Play!

The San Diego Padres are on a magical run, having the best record in Major League Baseball since the All Star Break at 41-17! Last night they clinched the playoffs with a historical game-ending triple play.

The play came on a grounder to the left side by shortstop and #9 batter Miguel Rojas, with runners on first and second and no outs in the bottom of the ninth.

To make it worse for the Dodgers, the very likely MLB MVP, Shohei Ohtani was on deck.

This was the first triple play to end a game in 30 years. And the Padres, became the first team in history to clinch a playoff spot with a game-ending triple play, according to the Elias Sports Bureau via ESPN.

"Obviously there's so many great teams, but we feel like we're as dangerous as anybody. It's a complete team.

Every night somebody else steps up. I'm so proud and so happy to be with this group. They deserve it. We're looking forward to a big run."
