Season 3 of MGM’s “FROM” Continues its Brilliant Start

“Did she suffer”- Kenny

That was one of many heartbreaking lines in the 2nd episode from season 3, of MGM’s hit thriller/horror series, “FROM”.

A series, that IMO was very good for 2 seasons, has quickly turned amazing! I think having a story that is set outside of FROMville has made a big difference for the better.

Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno) is seemingly back in the real world. It took some convincing, but she got Victor’s father Henry (Robert Joy) to believe her.

His wife had visions just like Tabitha did, so now we have a team on the outside, if that is the outside world. It really seems to be, but almost everything is questionable with this show.

Obviously, the huge story from last week was Kenny’s mother, Tian-Chen Lu (Elizabeth Moy) being killed in the worst way we’ve seen so far. Being torn apart with Boyd (Harold Perrineau) forced to watch.

They took it even further tonight, showing a flashback of more of what she went through. We also saw Boyd repeating her last words over and over, likely all night long. So he could remember the words that might become very important.

I have already seen and read a lot of fans saying that the monsters are not trying to break Boyd, it’s all about Kenny (Ricky He).

But Kenny is the closest person to Boyd, that’s what I think it’s about. They’re using Kenny to break Boyd.

They are also possibly setting up a huge conflict where Boyd might have to kill his son Ellis’ (Corteon Moore) wife, Fatima (nee Hassan-Rostami). She now seems to be carrying a demon child, something evil connected to the monsters, maybe a new version?

Or maybe it’s the head of the snake? Finally getting a body, or a new body? Anti-Christ kind of thing.

Back to Kenny, he ended up finding food when he was out with Jim (Elon Bailey). So he returned all happy to find his mother was brutally murdered, just like his father.

The monsters or town continued to unmercifully torment him, playing “celebrate good times”, in her kitchen as he was mourning!

This was after he asked Kristi (Chloe Van Landschoot), the woman he loves but can’t have, “Did she suffer?”. Her response or lack-of, told him everything.

All of that combined, had Kenny ready to go after the monsters and Boyd was going along with it. Until Kenny found out Boyd was there when his mother died and her last words translated to “take care of him”.

This once again broke Kenny, but made him realize he shouldn’t be acting on so much anger. They canceled their plans to burn the monsters in their secret, evil underground hideout.

I believe that was exactly what the monsters wanted, but the dream team of Boyd and Kenny were too good for that.

There was another great scene where Donna (Elizabeth Saunders) broke down, yelling at Boyd before realizing “the game is rigged” and he’s doing his best.

I think the monsters killed the wrong character. We are now seeing most everyone come together, even Victor is tired of all of this, and he calls that place home.

Most every member of the main cast, except Julie (Hannah Cheramy). She’s really pissed at her dad and rightfully so. Having to take care of her brother, while her father is still looking for her mother, who she believes is dead.

That was another fantastic scene. The father and daughter both had strong points, which makes it even more interesting. Neither is wrong in what they believe.

Scott McCord, who plays Victor, really stepped it up. He usually comes off as a scared child, now he’s pissed off and has a presence about him. I still don’t totally trust him or his father, but that’s one of many reasons, this show has become so awesome.

Jade, played by David Alpay is similar. He went from thinking it was all a joke, to losing his mind, trying to figure everything out. Now he’s focused and taking on more of a leadership role, or that’s how I saw it.

Absolutely incredible acting by every single member of the cast, same as last episode. Harold Perrineau deserves every award! The man is a force of nature.

There was another huge cliffhanger, Jim’s phone rang and a voice said “Dad? It’s Thomas”.

*Thomas was the child of Jim and Tabatha who died, leading them on a road trip that landed in hell…aka FROMville.

We did not see Elgin or Tillie on this episode. I don’t know if that means anything, but those are two important characters…so it probably means something.
