Star Wars: The Acolyte Actress Blames Fans for Bad Acting & Writing

I’m a HUGE Star Wars fan, so much so that I watched the entire series of The Acolyte! Clearly one of the few and the super bored to get through it, according to Nielsen ratings. Which showed it was the least-watched Star Wars show on Disney+, and BY FAR.
Now star or double-star (she played twins) of the series, Amandla Stenberg came out and blamed fans for the show being canceled.
This was months after her “hater diss track”, where she rapped that: “white people crying is the goal”.
Wait, who’s racist here? Hmm.
Not blaming the writing or terrible acting or the fact her boss Leslye Headland, used to be Harvey Weinstein’s right hand gal.
No, it’s us…the actual fans who wanted it to be great. Some of us even kept watching, hoping it would make a turn that never came.
Here is what Amandla had to say to Variety about the cancellation-
“I’m going to be transparent and say it’s not a huge shock for me. There has been a rampage of vitriol that we have faced since the show was even announced, when it was still just a concept and no one had even seen it.
That’s when we started experiencing a rampage of, I would say, hyper-conservative bigotry and vitriol, prejudice, hatred and hateful language towards us.”
LOL What?! How could ANYONE hate a concept? This is such bullshit. A lot of fans were very excited about The Acolylte, until the boring trailers.
Still, many were excited to see something different, which this show was. But you can be different and terrible at the same time.
That’s what The Acolyte was, and somehow the people being blamed for it’s failure….were the only fans watching?!
Yes, that includes the big time YouTubers like “The Critical Drinker”, Nerdrotic and Star Wars Theory, who have gotten blasted for being honest about an awful show.
I find it especially funny that SW Theory sells awesome light sabers. He’s very likely made more SW fans happy than everyone that worked on “The Acolyte” combined.

Again, it was a shit show that they watched, unlike SO many others who skipped it or quickly gave up.
So these people who don’t agree with the tiny minority of fans who watched and enjoyed this show, should be cancelled?

That’s the world now, pathetic. A bad actress can’t say “We screwed up, I really appreciate the chance though”. No accountability, just deflect from your awfulness with some buzzwords like “toxic fans” and “racism”.
Congratulations Amandla, you didn’t just make white people cry! You made all kinds of people cry, including Disney, who lost over a hundred million dollars on this disaster.
The Acolyte also stars Lee Jung-jae, Charlie Barnett, Dafne Keen, Rebecca Henderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Carrie-Anne Moss, Manny Jacinto, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, Margarita Levieva, Lauren Brady, Leah Brady, Harry Trevaldwyn, and David Harewood.
The series was created by Leslye Headland, who was also the showrunner.
