Tim Allen Talks “Toy Story 5” & Almost Shooting Santa Claus
Actor and comedian Tim Allen was a guest on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” last night. He spoke about a number of topics, including the possibility of “Toy Story 5”.
Tim also told a funny story about how the original “The Santa Clause” script, had him shooting Santa. It’s a great interview, check it out above. Or you can just read my quick highlights.
Tim Allen on “Toy Story 5”:
“Bob Iger, head of Disney, said it was gonna happen. They have reached out to Tom (Hanks) and I to reprise the roles.”
On almost Shooting Santa:
“The original script actually was written by two comedians and I shot Santa in the original script. I was crying, I was laughing so hard.
And at that point, Jeffrey Katzenberg, the head of Disney, says we’re gonna get you to do the movie. We’re gonna change a few things. (Allen replied) Oh no, that’s the best script I’ve ever read, first movie I ever did…
So, we can’t begin a Disney movie, Tim, with you murdering Santa.”
He went on talking with Jimmy about if a 5th “Toy Story” is too many. I’m pretty sure fans will be happy if they never stop making “Toy Story” movies.
