Tubi Original “Lowlifes” is Must-See for Horror Fans!

The other night I was bouncing around different apps, looking for a movie to watch. Hadn’t been on Tubi in a bit, so I checked that out. If you didn’t know, Tubi is a free movie app with some commercials.

I noticed they had a new original movie (it premiered April 11th) called “Lowlifes”. It’s a road-trip horror-thriller, one of my favorite sub-genres. The trailer is posted above and the synopsis reads:

The survival instincts of a road-tripping family are put to the test when they have no other choice but to stay the night at a remote homestead.

So I was quickly sold as a huge fan of those type of movies. It starts out like most every other one….BUT, there’s a huge twist!

Tubi Original “Lowlifes” is Must-See for Horror Fans!

The problem for me is I can’t get into that twist, without giving the movie away. So what can I say? Tesh Guttikonda and Mitch Oliver directed a fantastic horror movie.

There are SO many twists and turns, you may think you know what’s coming next, but you won’t. I loved that about the movie, usually even great movies like this are predictable.

The performances were solid, led by the father/daughter duo of Amanda Fix and Matthew MacCaull. Richard Harmon was great with limited screen time, hell of an actor from “The 100” series.

Who are the “Lowlifes”? You’ll go into the movie thinking one thing and come out with a totally different answer…or maybe not, depending on the person watching.

I’d love to say more, but I’m afraid I may have already spoiled too much. So check it out on Tubi, for FREE and enjoy!

Overall Grade: 8.6
