AEW’s Tony Khan says “No Such Thing as Long Term Booking Anymore”

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has been failing miserably, and we just got another answer as to why that is. CEO Tony Khan actually said this week that:

There's no such thing as long term booking anymore. It's week to week.”

Good Lord, how can this man be so obsessed with WWE, but learn nothing from the worldwide leader in Sports Entertainment.

Anyone can simply compare the numbers for the two. WWE is dominating the industry like never before. They are selling out arenas in all different countries. All this while AEW recently hit 90% EMPTY SEATS AT A SHOW!

Understand that AEW puts on 1 or 2 shows a week, while WWE has held shows everyday. Occasionally, they even hold multiple shows in different arenas, sometimes even in different countries.

A big reason why WWE is killing it? Long term booking and storytelling!

Just look at Roman Reigns: insanely over due to those two things. Cody Rhodes: Is he over due to his wrestling? Or is it because of booking and storytelling? I think we all know the answer.

Now let’s look at top AEW stars. Why isn’t Shane Strickland a huge star? Hangman Page? Lack of long term booking and storytelling for them. The wrestling talent is there.

Same with everyone there except for the Young Buck

The Bucks get stories, but nobody cares and they get dropped. So maybe Tony is basing his view on the inability of the Buck to act and carry a story.

Now look at AEW failing across the board. The scariest part is that Tony will never change, because he doesn't feel he needs to, regardless of what everyone else in the industry thinks.

He got a TV deal, so AEW will stick around for a bit. But they’re not making money due to the insane roster expenses which Eric Bischoff estimated were over 100 million a year.

I think it’s actually higher and he forgot about Ring of Honor, but let’s go with his number because he’s Eric F’n Bischoff!

The TV deal is reportedly worth $180M a year, and there’s all kinds of expenses that Easy E laid out. You should watch his video, it’s linked below.
