The WNBA Should be Ashamed of the Treatment Caitlyn Clark is Getting

The biggest star of the WNBA, rookie of the year, Caitlin Clark, has been through a lot of craziness this season. It seems like most of it comes from other players being jealous of her success, which is pathetic.

Last night was the worst incident yet. And this time it wasn't even on a shot. Clark was simply passing the ball, when Dijonai Carrington angled her fingers down, seemingly aiming at Clark's eye with her fingers.

Caitlin ended up with a black eye. The ridiculous part was that the referees didn't even call a foul on the play.

This was game 1 of the 2024 WNBA Playoffs, the Connecticut Sun defeated Clark’s Indiana Fever 98-63.

This would be like referees going AGAINST Michael Jordan and the NBA not catering to him. Should certain people get special treatment? Hell yeah, that’s how it’s always worked with sports.

Clark is so badass, she even took responsibility for the loss and refused to use the poke to the eye as an excuse!

[Editor's note: Rookies have to pay their dues, no matter how good they might be. As the years go by maybe she will get the same benefits that Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and all those others got (Even though none of them should have). But for now she's just a rookie playing in Indiana. However, it does not make last night's foul any less egregious.]

“Got me pretty good in the eye; I don’t think it affected me,” she said of the first-quarter injury. “I felt like I got good shots, they just didn’t go down.

Tough time for that to happen. I thought I got some really good looks. Three pretty wide open threes in the first half, you usually make.”
