“Hotel Underground” Review Starring Former Pro Wrestler James Storm

“Hotel Underground” was written and directed by Steve Ravic. The film is available now on Freevee and Tubi.

I was scrolling around some apps the other night, looking for a movie. This is what I came across, former TNA IMPACT pro wrestling James Storm. Figured I’d give it a shot, always liked Storm, and I’m a movie freak that happens to be a wrestling fan.

“Hotel Underground”: Overall Grade: 4.6

This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to grade. Everything in this movie is all over the place, and I’m not even sure what genre it was.

IMDB calls it an action-adventure-thriller. But there’s not much action or anything thrilling….except when it’s kind of a softcore porn.

it was an adventure to get thru though!

So the story follows retired world champion fighter (Storm), who is lured to a secret location in an effort to rescue his abducted wife.

He is now a part of their game. He is a part of the show. Fight, to live. Lose, you die. Once you check in, there is no way home.

Ok, that made me laugh. It’s so cheesy, the problem is not all of the actors realized that and played it way too straight.

“Hotel Underground” Review Starring Former Pro Wrestler James Storm

What about Storm? Oh yeah, he’s not really the star of this. Pretty sure they used his picture to get me to watch…and it worked. He’s solid when he’s on screen, especially compared to the other actors.

Sadly, the movie is more interested in the villains. At times, they’re freaky as hell, even scary. But those are few and far between. “Hotel Underground” is shockingly 108 minutes long, I say shockingly because it felt like 3 hours.

The only time I notice soundtracks is when they’re awesome or terrible. This was hysterically bad, like someone clicked a bunch of random buttons on a jukebox.

With all that said, if you like Storm and movies that are so bad that they become funny…this one’s for you!

What did you think of the movie?
