Liev Schreiber Explains His Absence From “Deadpool & Wolverine”
The Marvel Studios blockbuster “Deadpool & Wolverine” recently surpassed the $600 million mark at the domestic box office, and is at $1.26 billion globally. It should eventually pass “The Avengers”, as the 5th highest-grossing MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) movie.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” featured the MCU debut of Ryan Reynold’s “Deadpool”, and return of Hugh Jackman’s “Wolverine”. There are all kinds of returns from Fox X-Men and other movies, plus variants (same characters from a different universe).
One of the returns was “Sabretooth”, played by Tyler Mane. It was very cool seeing him for the first time since “X-Men” in 2000.
But many, including myself wondered why didn’t Liev Schreiber return? He was one of the best parts of “Wolverine: Origins”.
The Tony Award winner spoke with Collider about this.
“To be honest, it’s a lot of work getting your body up to that point. I know I watched Hugh (Jackman) get himself ready again, and I thought, ‘I’m okay to sit by the sidelines”.
