Tony Khan Booked Such a Dumb Match, even his Top Star is Confused

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) recently announced a new match for this Wednesday’s (9/3/24) show, and it’s led to a crazy amount of jokes. First, let me try to explain the match gimmick as best I can. Remember, this was booked by AEW President Tony Khan, who has taken shots at Vince “Put it on a Pole” Russo.

AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson will face Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada, with both titles on the line, BUT…only Okada’s title is on the line for the first 20 minutes.

Before I give my thoughts, here is a tweet from a former AEW World Champ, MJF: THE home-made AEW star, and one of the most entertaining pro wrestlers alive.

This is one of the most ridiculous gimmicks I’ve seen, and I’ve been watching wrestling for 40 years now.

Vince Russo made wacky gimmicks, some dumb as hell, but usually not for top talent and major titles.

So obviously Bryan wins but after 20 mins.
That or some type of DQ etc. They aren’t taking the belt off Okada just so Bryan can have 2 belts when we all know he’s done soon. Not knocking the matchup but not a fan of the stip. It just makes the outcome super obvious. #AEWDynamite
